Meet Michael and Stephanie Wilson, the husband-and-wife duo behind Wilson Photography and the visionaries behind The Downtown Studio Midland. What began as a personal photography journey evolved into a shared mission: to build a space where West Texas creatives could thrive.

Originally launched in a cozy corner of the Midland Charms studio, The Downtown Studio Midland (DTSM) was born from a simple idea—open the doors to fellow photographers. With years of experience and a deep love for community, Michael and Stephanie transformed their private studio into a collaborative hub for creatives across the Permian Basin.

Now located in the iconic Wall Towers, the Wilsons have been fortunate enough to upgrade and expand DTSM even further—offering more space, more amenities, and even more opportunities for local creators. They're building a space for creators, by creators, and their commitment is simple: collaboration builds community.

As active members of PPA and MOPPA, they’ve hosted meetings, welcomed the Sibley Nature Center Camera Club, and launched the DTSM Photographer of the Month to spotlight the incredible talent found in West Texas. With the new studio, they're doubling down on their mission: to uplift, support, and connect local photographers.

From workshops and creative gatherings to their newest endeavor, DTSM: In Focus, the Wilsons are committed to growing a vibrant photography community—one that inspires, educates, and celebrates the art of capturing life.
